What is Individuality? A social misfit who has been struggling with my own individuality talks about the theory of individuality

Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Light Yagami, who can’t study.

That’s just a crazy high school student.

Even if he picks up the Death Note, he’s going to write his name on the first page as proof of his ownership, and that would be the end

All of a sudden, I’m unusual.

I’m aware of it.

I’m sensitive and easily hurt, I’m not very good at expressing my feelings to others, I love to fantasize, I often talk to myself in a strange way, I’ve never had a girlfriend in my life, I worry about small things and go crazy in the middle of the night, I’m not afraid to say things that are morally wrong, and I have a social anxiety disorder because I can’t control my facial expressions, so I’m not normal at all. Yeah.

And I’ve had a lot of hard times because I’m different from the people around me.

I felt inferior because I couldn’t do things that people around me could do normally, and I felt as if the world was treating me like an obstacle.

At the time, I can’t tell you how many times I thought, “I want to be normal.”

When I was little, I was often left out by my friends, so I can imagine the loneliness and painful feeling……

Maybe we should be more grateful for ordinary things……
It’s true that ordinary things like eating a normal meal or having a normal chat with friends are actually very valuable

But!!!

Now, I don’t think that I want to be normal at all.

In fact, I’m glad that I’m not normal, and I even think that “this life is more rewarding.”

This is not bravado, but I really think so now.

This is because through the experience and suffering of being different from others, I gained a deeper understanding of individuality and eventually came to see my own personality in a positive light.

And although I’m basically an asshole, I also have one ability that I’m absolutely confident in.

So, as a crazy social misfit who has been struggling with my own individuality over and over again, I would like to explain the concept of individuality in this article in a way that is deeper and easier to understand than any other theory of individuality!

I hope this article will help those of you who are having a hard time living.

Every person has their own strengths. Absolutely. 1000000000%

No, 100000000000000000000000000000000000%

What is Individuality?

Individuality is a bumpy circle

If I had to describe individuality in one word, I would say that individuality is a bumpy circle.

You may say, “I don’t know what that means,” but I’ll explain it clearly now.

For example, I think the following characteristics can be listed as advantages.

  • Good at math
  • Good at drawing pictures
  • Can be attentive to others

These characteristics are advantages; they are the person’s wonderful individuality.

No one can argue about this part, right?

On the other hand, I would like to look at the weaknesses, and the following characteristics are often cited as weaknesses.

  • Unable to study
  • Small-minded and indecisive
  • Think negatively about everything

As you can see, in general, any part of a person that is objectively considered inferior by others can be counted as a weakness.

Then, can we really call these weaknesses as individuality?

To sum it up, I think I can clearly call these weaknesses as individuality.

And I can say it confidently \(^o^)/ wow

This is because, in the end, all weaknesses can be replaced by strengths.

In the example above, a person who cannot study at all would be good at sports or good at communication in many cases.

A person who is small-minded and indecisive is likely to have a kind heart and be considerate of others.

A person who thinks negatively about everything will be able to think of bad things in advance and will be able to avoid risks in the future.

In this way, a disadvantage can suddenly become an advantage if you give it a different perspective.

So, for example, it is impossible to claim that “I have only bad points and no good points at all.”

It is a strict fact that if you have bad parts, you also have good parts, and you just haven’t realized your strengths yet.

It just means that the angle from which you see your own individuality is currently too narrow.

In fact, I’ve heard that most of the great figures in history were eccentric and strange.

They were flawed people, but they also had extraordinary strengths, and as a result, they left their mark on history.

The more outstanding their weaknesses are, the more outstanding their strengths will be.

The crazier artists are, the more wonderful their works of art will be.

Theres a fine line between genius and idiot.

In other words, abilities are two sides of the same coin, and strengths and weaknesses are inseparable.

So, there is no need to lament that you have only bad points at all.

From this point of view, I think we can say that even our weaknesses are a part of our individuality.

If you have weaknesses, it means that you have strengths.

I think that there is no need to be negative and depressed about your weaknesses.

Besides, if you don’t have a single weakness, then that means you are an “impersonal person.”

To make the explanation so far easier to understand, I drew a picture once.

First of all, a picture of an impersonal person looks like this ↓

A flat, round circle like this is the image of an impersonal person.

And next, a picture of a person with individuality looks like this ↓

You can see that the weak point area on the lower left is depressed and the strong point area on the upper right is protruding.

In other words, if a person has a depressed area (weakness), there is a protruding area (strength) on the other side.

This is the image of ability, and like a chest of drawers, if you push a drawer to the back, the other side will stick out.

So, a person who has no bumps (no strengths or weaknesses) is what I call an impersonal person, and is a round circle like in the first picture.

On the other hand, if a person has a weakness ( = a strength), as shown in the second picture, when one part of the circle is depressed, the other side sticks out, resulting in a bumpy circle.

This was the meaning of the word “bumpy” I wanted to say, and the true meaning of “individuality is a bumpy circle.”

How was it? Easy to understand, right?

What? Isn’t that easy to understand?

hahaha

Individuality is a potential

There are many different people in the world.

Of course, we don’t all have the same strengths and likes, and they are all different.

They are all different.

Some people are good at working with computers, some are good at teaching things to others, some are good at singing, and some are good at making small things.

In this way, various types of people in the world have demonstrated their abilities and solved various problems in society by inventing, expanding, and operating products and services, and the world has developed so far.

In other words, individuality is a potential, and the existence of various types of individuality opens up the chance to do various things.

For example, if a company has only people with similar skills and values, it will have a hard time starting something new. But, if a company is made up of a diverse group of people, diverse opinions will come out at the time of planning, and if the company can handle the diverse skills and know-how of its employees, the chance of solving the immediate problems that will arise will increase, so the latter is more likely to succeed in new challenges.

In this way, the chances expand when a variety of individualities come together.

The range of what we can do expands.

So I think it can be said that it is better to have a variety of people in order to build a richer world.

There’s nothing I’m good at. Or anything I like

You’re really good at talking bad about people♪

No, how am I going to use that in society?

If you’re good at badmouthing people, then I think you’re good at manipulating language, so I think you’d make a good novelist or copywriter.

I think he’s more suited to be a weird, bitter critic who writes a column in the corner of a crappy magazine and feels good about himself♪

I think you’re the best at swearing

There is no superiority or inferiority in individuality

There is no superiority or inferiority in individuality.

There is no superiority or inferiority, just that each person has a different individuality.

For example, let’s say you buy an umbrella.

One is a folding umbrella, which is compact and easy to carry, but its range of protection from the rain is smaller than that of a normal umbrella.

The other is a regular plastic umbrella, which can protect you from the rain, but it is bulky in size.

These two umbrellas have these characteristics, merits and demerits of each other, but that shouldn’t mean that “we don’t need all plastic umbrellas” or that “we don’t need all folding umbrellas.”

People who value protection from the rain will buy a plastic umbrella, while those who find it troublesome to carry an umbrella by hand will buy a folding umbrella, so these umbrellas are chosen according to the purpose of the people who want to use them.

In other words, there is no absolute difference between which umbrella is better or worse, and the value of umbrellas changes depending on the consumer.

So, from the standpoint of umbrellas, a plastic umbrella should play the role of a plastic umbrella and a folding umbrella should play the role of a folding umbrella.

Just like the example of these two umbrellas, there is no such thing as superiority or inferiority in individuality, and there are times when every individuality is needed, so there is not much point in thinking about the superiority or inferiority of individuality.

There is a Japanese porn actor with a strong individuality who likes to eat feces, and he is now making a lot of money as a top porn actor.
And he said, “I shudder to think if there was no job like porn in this world.”

Hmmm, someone who couldn’t live in a normal society is now making more money than me, so I guess it’s no use to talk about the superiority of individuality

Well, from now on, I’ll stop criticizing a person based on only one aspect of that person……

Advantages of being unique

Can utilize special abilities that others do not have

As explained above, unique people have outstanding abilities that others do not have, and if you can recognize that talent, you will have a better chance of making more money than others.

You may be appreciated by many people for your talent.

Being unique can be hard sometimes, but I think it can also be a source of joy sometimes.

Basically, I think that the sum total of happiness will eventually be the same for everyone.

For example, if you eat food when you are not very hungry, you will only feel the normal level of deliciousness, but if you eat food when you are very hungry, you will feel that the food tastes even better than usual.

The more you feel the hardship of hunger, the more happy and satisfied you will feel afterwards.

In other words, the total value of happiness will be the same as the following.

A person who eats food normally

Happiness before eating rice: 0 + Happiness after eating rice: 1 = Total Happiness: 1

A person who ate food on an empty stomach

Happiness before eating rice: -1 + Happiness after eating rice: 2 = Total Happiness: 1

Wow, I see what you mean!
For example, if I climbed to the top of a mountain by helicopter, it wouldn’t be hard, but I wouldn’t be very impressed. On the other hand, if I climb a mountain on my own, it will be hard, but the view at the top will be very beautiful! I guess it’s the same thing!

Life is kinda like a seesaw. It’s like a balance game

So if you are currently suffering from your individuality, you will be able to experience happiness that will make up for the suffering you have experienced.

Your life will not be a life of suffering only, but you will have room to make up for the suffering.

So let’s bring out your strengths and turn your life around.

Let’s make positive use of your special talents that no one else has.

Can understand the pain of others

Being unique means being different from others, and I have struggled with this because I am quite different from the people around me.

But now I am glad that I suffered.

Because now I can understand the pain of others.

I have developed compassion and empathy for others, and I am able to think from the perspective of various people.

I feel that these are usually very helpful in my thinking about things.

And when I dryly calculate the gain and loss, I think that people who have compassion for others will have a higher chance of getting appreciation and cooperation from others by helping them than those who do not.

Also, if you can help people who are suffering from the same situation as you, you will have a chance to earn money.

I also have the opportunity to earn money by running a blog to share my experiences and thoughts.

Suddenly it became a very graphic story…

That’s what life is all about^^

I think that understanding the pain of others does not necessarily lead to immediate benefits for you, but in the long run, people who understand the pain of others will benefit from it.

Can feel a deep sense of gratitude for the things we take for granted

People who have suffered can be humble.

Don’t you say it.

Don’t you say it.

Don’t you say it.

Why not! I’m humble enough for the world!

Well, I guess lying is part of a person’s individuality, isn’t it!

……It seems that they don’t trust me at all, but the truth is that there are so many things in this world that don’t go my way, and I think that my power alone is very small.

I can’t even do the things that ordinary people can do.

But, because of this, I feel grateful for the things that are taken for granted.

Since I realized how small I am, I have come to appreciate the things I take for granted.

When I look back at my past, I think it’s hard to realize gratitude for the things we take for granted.

We take our parents for granted and don’t usually think anything of them, but when we start living away from them, we suddenly feel grateful for them.

When you catch a cold and are lying down at home, you feel grateful for your health.

In this way, the things that we normally do everyday are actually the most grateful, and if we can notice and appreciate such things that we take for granted, we will be able to walk through life with a richer heart.

Things I, who have suffered a lot from my own individuality, want to say

Rock ‘n’ Roll!

I have something to say!

That means we shouldn’t only look at what’s wrong with others!

There are good things and there are bad things in human beings.

Of course, when a person does something wrong, we need to encourage them to reflect on their actions.

I’m not saying that we should ignore all the bad points.

But, it is not productive to focus on the bad points of others on a daily basis.

There are always good things in people.

As long as you focus on the bad points, you will not be able to notice the strengths of the person, so you will not be able to bring out their best performance, and you may even be losing out without knowing it.

What’s important to you?

Is it important to look for the weaknesses of others to gain a psychological advantage and make you happy?

Or is it more important to bring out the strengths and abilities of others to achieve your own goals?

Of course, what is important is different for each person, and some people may value finding fault with others.

I don’t deny the existence of such people.

There are many different kinds of people in this world, and I personally think that I should accept the existence of such people who have different values from my own to a certain extent.

But my personal feeling is that only a small percentage of people place importance on finding fault, and that there are many more people who place more value on bringing out the strengths of others and making things more productive than finding fault with others.

So, if you don’t place much value on finding fault with others, why don’t you gradually change your perspective on people to focus on their strengths? That’s what I would like to suggest.

In this world, there are many people with diverse abilities and values, and all of them have their good points and bad points.

And I believe that if we can consider both the good and the bad, and accept the existence of others more, it will lead to a more diverse and richer society.

It’s kind of cool, like a passionate rock singer’s concert!

I felt the passionate cry of the soul that comes from your experiences…!

…zzzZZ

Conclusion

So far, I, a fuckin’ psychotic crazy social misfit who has been suffering from individuality, have written a lot about what I think about “individuality”!

I believe that the age to come is the age of individuality.

With the development of the Internet, we now have an environment where individuals can send out information in various ways.

Competition is becoming fierce due to globalization, and I think that the power of ideas and technology of individuals will be questioned more and more.

In such an era, I believe that you, unique individuals, are the ones who will lead the way.

I believe that you can make the world a better place if you break down the old moldy, rotten common sense and fully exercise your talents instead of just focusing on your own weaknesses.

Yes, we can.

Yeah, we can do it if we try. I want to break more of my own beliefs about the world

You’ve always been a broken man, and there’s nothing more you can break♪

You bastard!!!

I’ve learned a lot from them, that having a strong individuality can be both a poison and a medicine……

So here’s my conclusion for today!

Today’s conclusion

What is Individuality?

  1. Individuality is a bumpy circle
Strengths and weaknesses coexist, and like a drawer, when one part retracts, the other side sticks out!
Don’t just worry about the retracted part!
  2. Individuality is a potential
The world has developed to this point because there are so many different people, and it’s because there are so many different individualities that we can do so many different things!
You should compare which is better, having no individuality (= less possibilities) or having individuality (= greater possibilities)!
  3. There is no superiority or inferiority in individuality
Fulfill your role where you are needed!
There are places where cooks can shine, salespeople can shine, and pianists can shine, and you should shine as much as you can in your own area!
And there is no superiority or inferiority in any one area!

Advantages of being unique

  1. Can utilize special abilities that others do not have
The final sum of happiness is the same for everyone!
All you have to do is turn your suffering into happiness!
You must use your talents to turn your life around!
  2. Can understand the pain of others
The more you suffer, the more you will understand the pain of others, and the more compassion you will develop!
You should use that empathy to help people in need, make money, and enrich yourself and others!
  3. Can feel a deep sense of gratitude for the things we take for granted
The more different you are from others, the more room you can feel grateful for the things you take for granted!
If you can feel gratitude as if you were breathing, you will be the strongest!

Things I, who have suffered a lot from my own individuality, want to say

Rock ‘n’ Roll

I want to live a life with no regrets by taking a positive view of my individuality (^^)

I would also like to become a god of the new world while dealing with my own individuality \(^^)/

Here it comes again, Light Yagami who can’t study.

Thank you so much for reading this long article! (☆e☆)/
